There are several interface protocols used to interconect data acquisition devices. We will discuss in this section the most used ones.

Starting with the old but still useful GPIB, we will continue to analyze the simple, practical and adaptable RS-232 and its related protocols, and continue to the star of the moment, the USB bus that it is being incorporated in almost any digital test equipment today. USB is rapidly replacing any other interfaces, that is why we will analyze in detail this bus.

We also have a section dedicated to the Ethernet protocol. This is the base of every internet related measurement device, and recently we are observing a growing number of "web enabled" test equipment, so you could access the device like any website, from your internet browser.
